Our foundation now exits exactly 5 years. Thanks to your contributions we have been able to do a lot of good work. We are proud of the primary school we helped building. Of course we want to continue with projects on health, clean drinking water and sanitation. We hope that you will continue to support us!

Students and teachers of 2 primary schools called RK Basisschool De Triangel and Basisschool St. Jan have donated a fine sum of money . These donations will be spent on healthcare in Dia Town and Freetown. Thank you for those special gifts.

A primary school called Agnetendal has granted us very useful school materials like TV's, computers and chalkboards. We are very grateful for that.

The St Anna hospital in Geldrop has granted us medical equipment . Earlier the Máxima Medisch Centrum from Veldhoven granted us nurse uniforms which we distributed during our trip to Sierra Leone. Many thanks to both hospitals.

April/May 2009
We have stayed in Sierra Leone for 13 days. Again a great experience. We are very proud of the new school that is completed now with the help of all our sponsors. During our trip we talked to many people and especially the water and sanitation circumstances proved to be a big problem. That's why that will become our next project. Furthermore we intend to equip a medical post in Dia and a Clinique in Freetown with medicines and medical equipment. The needs in de surrounding villages of Dia are very high too. Our foundation organized a conference with the theme 'Irregular Migration Policy & Development : the impact on Entrepreneurship and local Economies”. The conference was well attended and many questspeakers lighted the subjects.

Students of a high school made a school assignment on our foundation. They were informed by our chairlady. They also granted us money. Thank you Sara, Vivian, Annika and Dennis.

A band called 2nd Avenue has released a new CD called Soundtrack for a Dream. The music is beautifull and the returns of the CD will be granted to our foundation. You can find more information on the CD at www.soundtrackforadream.com/. We thank all members of the band.

A roman catholic church called the Holly Nicolaas from Valkenswaard has granted us a fantastic amount. Many thanks to all parishioners for this bounty.

A group of young people called DommelschNext organized a tennismarathon and raised money for our foundation. Thanks to all participants and of course to the team of DommelschNext.

We presented us again at the Sint-Petrus Banden church in Leende. Also the smallest churchgoers have been able to take knowledge of the living conditions in Sierra Leone and of the African culture. The turnover of the money raising went entirely to our foundation. Thank you very much!

The Wanda foundation has received notice from the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration that she is by 1 January 2008 acknowledged as a so called ANBI. This means that your grants to us can be fiscally deductible. Further information about this can be found on the website of the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration.

SEPTEMBER 2008
Ab, Corrie, Wiet en Noortje van Hooff have given us a tremendous donation. They have chosen to ask for money for our foundation instead of gifts for their 25 years of marriage and several birthdays. With their great initiative they raised €1500,- . We thank the van Hooff family from Veldhoven because of their exceptional gesture.

Kim Willems, one of our first sponsors and volunteers, has participated on an a cycling tour and with that she raised a lot of money. Many thanks to Kim! She was among others sponsored by a recruiting&selection firm called IT-profile BV and a firm that rents (mountain)bikes called DallaCollina Cycling.

A company called Ictivity agreed on sponsoring our water and sanitation project with a considerable amount..They will also look for cosponsors. We are verry happy with that!

We informed the students of a primary school called de Reis van Brandaan about our work. The children were very much involved with the destiny of their contemporaries in Sierra Leone. A sponsor run was organized from which a part was donated to Wanda. Many thanks to the board, parents and above all the children of the Reis van Brandaan. A special thanks to Hans Meertens, a teacher of the Reis van Brandaan, who was the major initiator.

The construction of the school is progressing steadily. The roof has been placed and the other activities like placing doors and windows and the painting of the building will be finished in a manageable time. Here you can find a overview of the progress of the building of the school.

We have visited the Evangelical community Neerpelt in Belgium. We thank our Belgium friends for their generous contribution to our foundation.

A student dispute called Aisa donated a considerable sum of money to us.They organised a party from which the revenues went to our Foundation. Thanks to all members of the dispute.

The cheque of the Sondervick college from Veldhoven was handed over to us. The result was an amazing 22,771. 98 euro. We are speechless and we don't really know how to thank the school board, the teachers and especially the students!

A bridgeclub that has been ended donated the remaining money to Wanda foundation. A nice gesture and we thank the members.

A high school called 'Sondervick college' organized a Christmas fair, a lottery and a sponsor run. Furthermore students of the 6th grade sold Christmas trees. All benefits will be donated to the Wanda Foundation. We are very grateful for that.

The construction of the school is progressing well. There have been some delays because of heavy rainfalls. The school is expected to be ready mid 2008.

Wanda presented itself at a high school called ' Were Di'. The students made all kind of art objects and these were sold on a fair. The benefits will go to Wanda. Thank u students and board of Were Di.

We have informed the members of the Evangelical Baptist Community Valkenswaard on our progress in Sierra leone. They were the first to support us and for that we are very grateful. Again they donated us a considerable sum of money.

We gave information on our project to the children of a primary school called St. Jan in Leende. The children were very interested and asked us a lot of questions. Besides that we have presented us in a church called the St. Petrus Banden in Leende. Like last year there was a atmospheric mass. Money was raised on behalf of our foundation. Last week we got the sad message from Sierra Leone that Mattu Essah has died. Mattu was a strong member of the Wanda Foundation in Sierra Leone. Our condolences to her family and friends. We will miss her and may her soul rest in peace.

We are back from our trip to Sierra Leone. It was an amazing experience and we have made a lot of friends. We received a great welcome and were treated as family. For that we are very grateful. Here you can look at our travel report.

The subsidy we applied for is granted to us by an organisation called the Wilde Ganzen. This means that we can start building the school! A great success and we thank everybody that has contributed to it. On the 11th of May some boardmembers of the foundation will leave for Sierra Leone to talk about the building of the school and to tell them the good news.

We attended a symposium on gender - based violence against women.The symposium was organised by Cordaid in The Hague. Our chairman Josephine gave an impressing presentation on the situation in Sierra Leone. Here you can find a handout of her presentation

In January building cooporation woCom has donated 2,500 euro. This fantastic amount will help us further to achieve our goal!

Our foundation organized a multicultural event. We informed the local community. It was a great festivity and a lot of artists performed for free. Financialy it was also a great succes because of the many donations! COS Nederland has subsidised almost all costs.

We presented us at a primary school in Valkenswaard called the Dorenhagen. We gave information to the classes of our foundation and developing countries in general.We received 800 euro of the revenues of the Christmas fair.Thanks to all the teachers, parents and students of the Dorenhagen.

Wanda Foundation was having an information-stand on "Let's meet Africa", a cultural festival in the city Eindhoven. Many people were interested in our organisation.
During the festival Money transfer (GWK travelex) has donated a hundred schoolpens to our foundation.

Were Di, a highschool from Valkenswaard gifted the foundation tools and professional materials (sews and hammers etc.). Wanda is very happy about this gift.

Tennisclub VLTC from Veldhoven has held her annual campaign for charity and has donated the revenues to the Wanda Foundation. The donation is € 569,75. Many thanks to all donors and to VLTC.

The Wanda Foundation has transferred an amount of money, gathered during a collection of the Evangelical Baptist Community Valkenswaard, to the teachers of the Boyd Primary School. Up till now, teachers have not received any salary.
